An interesting and helpful (if not comprehensive) bibliography of some famous, some not-so-famous women writers, beginning with Sappho in the 7th c. BCE, and continuing through the centuries with Virago authors such as Vera Brittain, Winifred Holtby, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, Vita Sackville-West and George Eliot. Also includes brave men who wrote on seminal women's issues, i.e. George Lewes and John Stuart Mill.
